HERBERT ROETHEL

Herbert F. Roethel, age 91, 919 Buchanan Street, Kiel, died Friday afternoon, Dec 27, at Willowdale Nursing Home, New Holstein, where he had been a resident for the past two weeks. He was born January 24, 1900, in the Town of Meeme, son of the late Fred and Anna Schreiber Roethel. He attended Pigeon River School in the Town of Meeme. On July 23, 1927, he married Alma Zellmer in Port Washington. He was employed at American Motors Corporation in Milwaukee for over 40 years retiring in 1965. The couple moved to Kiel in 1966. He is a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Schwartzwald.
Survivors are his wife, Alma, two sisters, Lydia Henschel of Kiel and Irmgard Reinick of Sheboygan, and also numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services were Monday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, with the Rev. Lloyd Fried, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ officiated. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery. Schwartzwald.
