Mrs. Rone Roethel, 56, wife of a Town of New Holstein farmer, died Late Saturday afternoon at her R. 2, Kiel, home following an illness of several months. The former Viola Olm, she was born in the Town of Meeme, Manitowoc County, July 21, 1901, a daughter of the late William and Emma Laux Olm. She attended district school in Meeme and graduated from Kiel High School in 1919. Following graduation from the then Manitowoc County Norman School she taught the rural Millhome and Pigeon River Schools in the Town of Meeme. Her marriage to Mr. Roethel took place at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church, Schwartzwald, Feb. 25, 1921. Following marriage the couple farmed, the past 19 years on the present place in the town of New Holstein between Kiel and New Holstein in Calumet County.
Surviving are her husband; one son, Wilfred, at home and a brother, Edgar Olm, R. 1, Kiel. One brother preceded her in death.
Services will be held at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Schwartzwald, with the Rev. E. L. Hennig, pastor, officiating.
