Funeral services for Rone Roethel, 68, of 730 Fremont St., Kiel, who died at his home Sunday were held at St. John's United church of Christ at Schwartzwald in the Town of Herman. The Rev. C. L Hennig, pastor officiated and interment was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Roethel was born Nov. 27, 1887, in the town of Meeme, a son of Fred and Anna Roethel. He was married Feb. 25, 1921, to Viola Olm of the Town of Meeme at St. John's United Church of Christ, and they resided on farms in the Towns of Meeme and New Holstein. She preceded him in death in January of 1958, and for the past five years he resided in Kiel. Survivors are a son, Wilfred, of Kiel; four sisters, Mrs. Ann Pfefferkorn of rural Manitowoc, Miss Emma Roethel of rural Cleveland, Mrs. Gilbert Henschel of Kiel and Mrs. Harold Reineck of Sheboygan; three brothers, Arthur of rural Elkhart lake, Herbert of Milwaukee and Harry of rural Cleveland.
