Mrs. Anna Roethel, 84, of the town of Schleswig, passed away today at the Sheboygan Memorial Hospital following an illness of one year duration. Nee Ebeling, she was born March 2, 1870, in the town of Herman, the daughter of the late Ernest and Johanna Ebeling. She was married to Christian Roethel, town of Meeme, on Sept. 13, 1891. The couple lived in the town of Meeme for several years but for the past 50 years made their home in the town of Schleswig.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Adalia Damrow of Cleveland, Mrs. Walter (Hilda) Lipchow and Mrs. Orville (Minnie) George, both of Milwaukee, Mrs. Joseph (Erna) Nennig and Mrs. Ray (Viola) Rabe, town of Schleswig; two sons, Arvin and Arno, town of Schleswig; eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and two brothers, August Ebeling of Sheboygan and Louis Ebeling, town of Herman. Her husband passed away in Feb., 1937.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at the St. John's Evangelical Reformed Church, Schwartzwald. Dr. Frederick Herzog will officiate and burial will be made in the church cemetery.
