Robert W. Meyer, 78, of 1605 N. 17th St., Sheboygan, formerly of Manitowoc County, died at home Thursday morning after a several months illness. Funeral services will be at St. John United Church of Christ, town of Herman, the Rev. E. L. Henning officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Meyer was born Feb. 24, 1886, in the town of Meeme, son of the late George and Karoline Schreiber Meyer. He attended Pigeon River District School. He married Alma Sempf of the town of Meeme April 3, 1910, at St. John Church. The couple farmed in North Dakota five years and then located on the Meyer home farm which it operated until retirement in 1963, moving to Sheboygan. The couple observed its golden wedding in 1960. He was a church deacon for ten years, member of the church choir for 40 years, served on the Pigeon River School Board, was a director for 25 years of the Cleveland Shipping Assn. and a charter member of Manitowoc county Farm Bureau.
Survivors are the wife, three sons, Alfred, of rural Kiel, Elmer, of Ada and Willard, of Oshkosh, a daughter, Mrs. Harold Kolb, of Cleveland, a sister, Mrs. Arthur Olm of Sheboygan Falls, 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A daughter, two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
