Carl A. Lutze, 75, of 1926 Cooper Ave., died late Saturday afternoon at the Sheboygan County Hospital where he was taken Wednesday. He had been a patient at Sheboygan Memorial hospital for the past 10 weeks. Born Sept. 9, 1887, in the Town of Centerville, he was the son of the late Gustav and Adelheit Lutze. He attended the rural schools and was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran church in Centerville. On Oct. 22, 1911, he was married to Erna Hauenstein. They settled on a farm in the Town of Herman where they resided until his retirement in 1946. Since that time they lived at their present home in Sheboygan.
Mr. Lutze served as clerk of School District No. 7 for 21 years, was president of the Cleveland Co-op Shipping Assn. for 15 years and was custodian and an elder of St. John's United Church of Christ in Town Herman for many years. Since residing in Sheboygan, he was a member of the Ebenezer E & R Church of Christ and was also an elder of the church. He was a member of the Cooper Golden Age Club.
Survivors are his wife; one daughter Elsie at home, and one son, Melvin on the homestead in Town Herman; five grandchildren; three brothers, Alfred of Cleveland and Arthur and Walter of Manitowoc. One brother, one grandson and two daughters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at the Ebenezer E & R Church of Christ with the Rev. Ruben Grosshuesch, pastor officiating.
