MELVIN A. LUTZE

Melvin A. Lutze , 56, of R. 1, Elkhart Lake, died at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital Tuesday evening after a prolonged illness.
Born in the Town of Herman on Jan. 15, 1919, he was a son of Carl and Erna Lutze.
On May 26, 1945, he married Edna Wittkopp at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth.
He attended farm short courses at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and operated his own farm for many yeas.
He was a member of St. John UCC in the Town of Herman, the Brotherhood of the church and the Farm Bureau. He once served on the Town of Herman board.
Survivors are his widow; a daughter Mrs. Merrybeth Brown of Hart, Mich.; a son Steven of Sheboygan; two grandchildren; a sister Elsie Lutze of Sheboygan.
His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. John UCC in Herman, the Rev. Dean Roy Miller, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Nickel's Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Friday and at the church from 9 a.m. Saturday.
A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Lutz's name for St. John UCC.
