The death of Mrs. Nancy Forbes, age 99 years, of Deer Creek, Sask., formerly of Pike Lake, occurred in hospital on Tuesday, November 24. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 27, at 2:45 p.m. from McKague's Funeral Home. Surviving are two sons, John, Saskatoon, and Hugh, North Battleford; two daughters, Mrs. Henry Mohr, Lloydminster, and Mrs. Minnie McCombe, Asquith; 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Forbes was born in Marshall, Illinois, coming to Pike Lake in 1910 where she operated a restaurant and the post office. Leaving Pike Lake she went to Makwa, Sask., and from there to Deer Creek, finally passing away in hospital at Paradise Hill. Burial will be made in the family plot, Woodlawn Cemetery.
