Funeral services for Mrs. Julie A. Vickers will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2011 in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, with Reverend Jimmy Koonce officiating. Interment will be in Beech Creek Cemetery, Olla, Louisiana, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.

Mrs. Vickers, age 86, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Tioga Manor Nursing Home, Pineville, Louisiana. She was a native of Sikes, Louisiana. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Homewood Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday School Teacher and Nursery Worker for over 44 years. She loved her husband and children, but more than that she loved her Lord and Savior.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Herman Vickers; parents, Egbert and Ola Adams; two brothers, Herbert B. Adams and Richard Dolan Adams.

She is survived by two sons, Wayne Vickers (Mona) of Ball and Charles Vickers (Karen) of Tioga; one daughter, Dianne Cotten (Clayton "Cleyon") of Ball; three brothers, Hubert Adams of Sikes, Chester Adams of Olla and Hollis G. Adams of St. Joseph, Louisiana; two sisters, Sammie Cox of Tullos and Rosalie Neal of West Monroe; twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chris Cotten, Robin Vickers, Adam Vickers, Joshua Vickers, Anthony White and Mark Juneau.

Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Thursday, January 20, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m.
