Son of Raymon Fredrick Collier and Charlsie Alene Carman. Brother to Donald Ray, Alma Joyce, and Kathy. He was raised mainly in Hermleigh, Texas and in 1964 moved to Odessa, Texas. Married Paula Kay Helms in December 5, 1975 in Hobbs, New Mexico. Father to Fredrick Ray and Janice Kay. Grandfather to Dakota, Ashlyn, Mikayla, Joseph, Elizabeth, Sierra and Jacob.

A Vietnam Veteran, he was wounded by mortar shell in 1968. He was awarded Combat Infantry Badge, The Purple Heart, Expert Rifle Badge, the Vietnam Service Medal, with two bronze service stars, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

He was an avid sports fans, with a great love of football, especially the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns. He was a great Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Cousin. Rest in Peace Fred, you will be greatly missed.
