Carrie DeHart Via Westmoreland, age 95, of Stuart passed away October 27, 2008 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on April 7, 1913 to Elder Leander DeHart and Cornelia Hall DeHart.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Amos B. Via; her second husband, A.L. Westmoreland, Sr.; two sisters: Bell Eaton and Delpha Noonkester; three brothers: William, Sammy and Euell DeHart.
She was a member of Old Spoon Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Kermit Via; four daughters: Shelby Oliva, Joyce Via, June Via and Janet Thomas; a step-son, A.L. Westmoreland of Missouri; three grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Old Spoon Creek Church Cemetery.
