RITES MONDAY
Mrs. Nellie Mae Roeder of Route 2 Mt. Vernon, died at 8:47 this morning at Good Samaritan Hospital, where she had been a patient for one day.
She was 77 years and 23 days old.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p m at Myers Chapel. The Rev. Sam McCoy will officiate and burial will be in New Shiloh Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 3:00 p m Sunday.
Mrs. Roeder was born March 15, 1884 in Saline County, IL the daughter of William and Hannah (Spurlock) Dorris.
She was married to Charles E. Roeder, who preceded her in death October 6, 1952.
She is survived by five sons, Russell, Derrell, Virgil, and Donnie, all of Mt. Vernon. and Lloyd of Decatur; four daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Pigg, Mrs. Harold Rainey, Mrs. Imogene Grant, and Mrs. Freda Brown, all of Mt. Vernon; one brother C.S. Dorris of Mt. Vernon; one sister Mrs. Clara Yearwood of Mt. Vernon; 31 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
