H.B. "Slim" Bagwell, 73, of Amarillo died Monday, Sept. 1, 2003. Mr. Bagwell was born July 16, 1920, in Claude. He married Odessa Tillman on Oct. 2, 1946, in Liberal, Kan., and they moved to Amarillo in 1949. Mr. Bagwell retired from Farmland Co-op after 38 years as a truck driver. He was a rancher and involved in the Boy Scouts of America program. He was a member of San Jacinto Church of Christ. Was a veteran, serving in the Navy as a mechanic.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Letha Brown and Velesta Allstrom. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Linda Pankey and husband, Jerry, of Lorena, and Ellen Rowell and husband, George, of Oklahoma City; a son, Henry Bagwell and wife, Amy, of Amarillo; two sisters, M.E. Brunson of Claude and Melva Miller of Spokane, Wash.; four grandchildren, Shay, Pamala, Landon and Daylon; and two great-grandchildren, Chyenne and Shane.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in San Jacinto Church of Christ with Bret McCasland officiating. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
