Mrs. Gertrude Maye Stauffer, 72, Route 1, died at Bothwell Hospital at 4:10 pm Wednesday. She had been a patient at the hospital since July 25.

She was born at Lexington, Ohio, March 14, 1900, daughter of the late John E. and Mabel Edna Oliver Wirth. She was married in Medina County, Ohio, June 27, 1925 to Roy Owen Stauffer. They moved to Pettis County from Ohio in 1968.

Mrs. Stauffer was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her widower, Roy Owen Stauffer; two daughters, Mrs. Carol White, Merriam, Kan., and Mrs. Donald Tyler, Rock Island, Ill.; three brothers, Floyd Wirth, Bradenton, Fla., Oren Wirth, Sullivan, Ill. and Willard Wirth, Plymouth, Ohio; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday at the Ewing Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Tyler, Rock Island, Ill. officiating, assisted by the Rev. Larry Abbott, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene.

Burial will be in the Iberia Cemetery, Iberia, at 2 pm Saturday.
