Jody "Joe" Lee Bowers, 64 of Huntington, passed away Thursday March 25, 2010 at 8:52 am at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He worked in construction and managed his children's music careers. He was a lifelong resident of Huntington and member of Gethsemane Ministries Church in Huntington.
Joe was born August 1, 1945 in Huntington, the son of William H. Bowers and Evelyn (Cross) Bowers Baker.
He is survived by his mother Evelyn Baker of Huntington, 3 sons Larry S. Bowers of Huntington, Toma J. Smith of Majenica, Colt H. Bowers of Huntington, one daughter Sierra L. Bowers of Huntington, one sister Candy R. (Jim) Miller of Huntington, 3 grandchildren Kristy Aslet of Indianapolis, Gage and Chloe Bowers of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and his ex-wife and friend Joan Bowers of Huntington.
He was preceded in death by his father William H. Bowers and a brother Larry H. Bowers.
Visitation will be held Monday March 29 from 10 am to 12 noon prior to the 12:00 noon funeral service at Gethsemane Ministries Church, 2239 Hartman St., Huntington with Rev. Elzie Spencer officiating.
Burial will follow in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Huntington.
