Although it had been expected for some time, the death of Laban A. Hause which occured last Wednesday morning was a shock to the community. He was one of the pioneers of Riley township, was a member of the Methodist church in this village and also a member of the Masonic lodge under whose auspices the funeral will be held this afternoon. Laban A. Hause was born in Seneca County New York, March the 10th 1831, died March 14th 1906. His parents moved to Royalton, Nigra Co. New York when he was only an infant. At the age of 28 he came to Michigan, settled on a farm near Riley Centre which he owned for 50 years, selling it a short time ago. He lived in Emmett 4 years, in Millington, Tuscola Co. 9 years, moved back on his farm, resided there until 10 years ago when he came to Memphis and has lived here ever since. He was twice married, Sarah Dysinger of Royalton, New York. In 1854 she died leaving one child. In 1859 he married Melissa Sanderson, 4 children were born to them, all of whom are living, beside 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
