I was emailed the following "My mother was 18 when her Aunt Bessie died. She says that Bessie grabbed a gun & ran outside to scare off a hawk that was after her chickens. She tripped & fell causing the gun to go off.

At least one of Bessie's children was at home & witnessed the accident."
