Robert Bob Marley, Jr. Past Commodore of the South Shore Yacht Club, died on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011 at the Stanley Tippett House in Needham, following a lengthy illness. He was 58 years of age. Beloved husband of Barbara A. (Faunce) Marley. Devoted father of Katelyn I. Marley and Eric A. Marley, both of Braintree. Loving brother of William C. Marley of Land OLakes, FL, Debra G. Downey of Homosassa, FL and the late Richard G. Marley. Beloved nephew of Richard Connolly of Malden and Paul and Mary Connolly of Portland, ME. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Born in Ceiba, Puerto Rico at the Roosevelt Roads Naval Air Station, he was raised and educated in Brockton and had lived in Braintree since 1999. He had worked in the trucking and cold storage industry thoughout his career, had owned the Reload Pallet Co. and most recently worked for Cara Donna Provisions in Braintree. An avid sailor, Bob was President of the Quincy Bay Race Week, a member of the Commodores of America and had been a member of the South Shore Yacht Club for many years. Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, South Weymouth, at 809 Main St. (Rte. 18 opp. South Shore Hospital) Monday at 9:00 a.m. Funeral Mass to follow in St. Josephs Church, Quincy Point at 10:00 and burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
