Dorothy Elizabeth Vanlandingham, 81, also known as Granny Dot and the "Lady who baked cakes in a jar" was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Jethro Vanlandingham. Her life included several types of work to survive when her husband died in 1967. When moving back to Pahokee, FL, in 1992, she worked at the Pahokee Chamber of Commerce and Palm Beach County as a switchboard operator in the Belle Glade Sub-Office. Her hobbies included "Cakes In A Jar," an avid rock hound, sewing, and watching her favorite Christian show on TV. She is survived by her siblings, Charles Gill and Jacqueline (Berkley) Hand, Roberta Edenfield and Carmel Patsy (Hilton) Edenfield; her children, Diane (Gary) Osgood, Larry Vanlandingham and James (Thelma) Vanlandingham, Julia Wilkinson and Debbie (Timmy) Dean; as well as 12 grandchildren, Tisha (Tim) Lloyd, Beth Noles (Mike), Jamie (Tommy) Gibson, Allan (Carrie) Vanlandingham, Terry (Ron) Gacula, Michelle Hollingsworth, Brad (Ashley) Wilkinson, Tammy (Kevin) Barbour, Tad Dean, Chris (Heather) Dean, Christopher (Yadi) Vanlandingham, and Jeremy Vanlandingham; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Her Pall Bearers were Tad Dean, Mike Roberts, Tim Lloyd, Brad Wilkinson, Kevin Barbour, Tommy Gibson, Chris Dean and Jeremy Vanlandingham. Interment at Oak Hill Burial Park, Lakeland, FL., where she was laid to rest by her husband.
