Colusa Herald Nov 18, 1930:
Mrs. Frank Hiegel and Mrs. 0. Shuman were in Sutter City yesterday where they attended the funeral of Mrs. Emily Huffmaster, pioneer resident of Sites who died at the Woodland clinic last Thursday following a serious operation. Mrs. Huffmaster has made her home in Sutter City the last 15 years, where she managed the Sutter City hotel. During Ihe many years she lived in Sites, where she also had hosts of friends, she managed the Sites hotel. She is survived by a son, Earl Huffmaster, owner of a garage in Yuba City and a daughter, Mrs. Leroy Pease of Sutter City. Mrs. Huffmaster was well known both in Colusa and Sutter counties and the news of her death came as a distinct shock to them.
