FINEGAN -- John Christopher, Sr., born on March 10, 1920, died on July 22, 1997 of an aneurysm. Mr. Finegan was a nine year resident of Rancho Bernardo. He and his wife, Bette, moved from Birmingham, Michigan in 1988 where they lived for 40 years. Mr. Finegan was active in the Harvard club of San Diego where he served on the Board of Directors for six years, the Navy League and the Palomar Hospital Auxiliary. Mr. Finegan was a graduate of Harvard College. He served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Marines during World War II. He leaves his wife, Bette, a daughter, Mardi Finegan of Walpole, Mass., a son Christopher Finegan of Rancho Bernardo, two granddaughters Reina and Jessica Finegan of Covina, CA, a brother Barry Fisher of Newport, Oregon and a sister, Norma Fisher of Gainesville, FL. Memorial Services will be at St. Bartholomew's Church at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday July 26. St. Bartholomew's is located at 16275 Pomerado Road, Poway, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Harvard College, Cambridge, Mass. and the Elizabeth Hospice, 150 Crest Street, Escondido, CA 92025.
