His obituary reads: The Music Man Dead John Church, who has made himself known to almost everybody in Barren Co. through his singing and playing on the street corners of Glasgow for many years, died at his home near town on the Knob road Friday night. He had been sick for some time, and for this reason had not been seen or heard about town for quite awhile. It was a familiar sight to see the old man, who was blind, being led around by his wife, and their means of livelihood was mostly through charity. The burial occurred in the family burial ground Sat. afternoon. Services conducted by Rev. A. D. Litchfield. He is buried in unmarked grave. John married Maggie Johnson & they had two children, Minnie & Joe.
