Otis was a son of William Henry Denegar & Minnie A. Gardner.

He was married on 15 Mar 1925 at Rhinebeck, Dutchess County, New York to Margaret Cassandra Frey.

They had 5 children: Donald O.; Clifford W.; Dorothy I.; Stanley L.; and Kenneth W.


Otis G. Denegar, 70, 1104 2nd Ave. E., died Monday in Kalispell after he was stricken at home.
He was a retired painter and building contractor.
Mr. denegar was born July 12, 1905 in Germantown, N.Y. He attended schools there, later attending Syracuse University. He was married to Margaret C. Frey in Rhinebeck, N.Y. on March 15, 1925.
For more than 35 years he operated a large fruit farm in the Hudson Valley of New York before moving to Kalispell in 1952. At first he worked as a laborer in Kalispell and then became a business agent for Local #1192 of the laborer's union. At one time he worked in the state labor organization.
For six years he was a self-employed painter and building contractor in Kalispell, retiring in the summer of 1974. He and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary March 15.
Mr. Denegar was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Local #1192 of the laborer's union.
Surviving, besides his widow at home, are four sons, Donald O., Bellevue, Wash., Clifford W., Albany, N.Y., Stanley L., Kalispell, and Kenneth W. Denegar, Victoria, B.C., canada; a daughter, Mrs. Wayne E. (Dorothy) Wyman, Billings; two brothers, Harold, Germantown, N.Y., William Denegar, New Port Richey, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Henry (Evelyn) Mehrtens, Albany, N.Y., Mrs. Edison (Emma) Lasher, Germantown, and Mrs, Rodney (Margaret) Harvey, Boulder, Colo.; 14 grandchildren and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Weatherford Funeral Home with the Rev. H. Peder Waldum, pastor of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in Glacier Memorial Gardens.
