Merle Forgie Stowe, age 86, died May 24, 1990 in Sandy, Utah.

She was born May 11, 1904 in Milford, Utah to John M. and Annie Laura Bourne Forgie. Merle married Noah Eugene Stowe in Salt Lake City, Utah on November 20, 1919. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Eugene preceded her in death on October 3, 1931. Merle attended Henager Business College and for many years was an employee of the Salt Lake County Recorders Office. An active member of the LDS Church, she served as Primary President, in the Sunday School and Relief Society and church choir. She was a member of the singing group, The Melodettes. She also served as President of the Business and Professional Women's Club in Midvale.

'Mother was a very thoughtful, caring, dependable and prompt lady. She always had concern for others but especially cared about her family. This devotion endeared many friends to her. We love our Mother.'

Survivors: sons, Lloyd E. Stowe and wife, Betty, Hemet, Calif.; Thomas J. Stowe and wife, Geneal, Sandy; Ronald N. Stowe and wife, VaLoy, Midvale; daughters, Nadene Baxter, West Valley City; Mrs. Al (Wyoria) Ford, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Martin (Nora) Jackson, Fallbrook, Calif.; son-in-law, David Campbell and wife, Vaudis, Taylorsville; 19 grandchildren and 63 great grandchildren; brother, Glen E. Forgie, Sandy; brothers-in-law, Arnold Javaine and Harry Petersen, both Midvale. Preceded in death by daughter, Margaret Campbell; mother and father; grandson, Rodney N. Stowe; brother, Lowell J. Forgie; sisters, Leona Cox, Lois Petersen and Zella Javaine; son-in-law, Eugene J. Baxter.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 29, 1990, at 11:00 A.M. in the Midvale North LDS Stake Center, 97 West 7500 South. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State St. Monday 6-8 P.M. and Tuesday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
