Gaffney, S.C. - Hazel Blanton McDaniel, 76, of 122 E. Allen Street, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 8, 2012 at her residence.
Born 1 January 1936 in Gaffney, she was the wife of Lee "Jud" McDaniel and the daughter of the late Otis Bonner Blanton and Lillie Belle Parris Blanton.
Mrs. McDaniel was retired from Oxford and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, also surviving is number one son, Roger McDaniel and number two son, Billy Duncan, both of Gaffney; two daughters, Judy Harris and fiancé, William Brewer of Gaffney and Jackie McDaniel of Gaffney and fiance', James Rolen of Greer; a brother, Ed Blanton of Conway; two sisters, Margaret Cudd of Gaffney and number two sister, Betty McCullough of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Jennifer Wood and husband, Sgt. William A. of The United States Marine Corp, Carlton Harris, Tina Harris, Michael Crook Jr. and Lacie Allen; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Mrs. McDaniel was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Blanton, Jack Blanton and Hugh Blanton; and a sister, Lena Gallman.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 11, 2012 at Blakely Funeral Home.
Funeral services will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Osment officiating.
Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
