Ettie Mae Crocker was the fifth of six daughters of James Lewis Crocker and Sarah “Sally” Loomis. After her mother’s death in 1872, Ettie was adopted and raised by her maternal aunt, Julia Ann Loomis Scott and Julia’s husband, John W. Scott. She moved first to New York State and later to Kansas with her adoptive family. Ettie married Lee Harvey in 1892 in Conneaut, Ohio, and raised her family there. She died in Ohio in 1941 at the age of 71, after complications from surgery.
