Mrs. Ella Griggs Rites Held Here Monday.
Following an illness of about six weeks, Mrs. Ella V.(Gaylor) Griggs died last Friday, Dec. 2, 1966 at the age of sixty-five. Services were held at the First Baptist church of Skiatook with Rev. Charley Hargrave officiating.
Mrs. Griggs came to Skiatook in 1920 from White Oak, OK. She was born Oct. 13, 1901 at Winslow, Ark.
A member of the First Baptist church, Mrs. Griggs is survived by a daughter, Mrs. David (WANDA) Ellis, Skiatook;three step-sons, Art Griggs,Skiatook;Thede Griggs,Skiatook;and Paul Griggs of Pryor; three step-daughters, Bertha Hall,Sand Springs;Mae Weathers,Turley;and Naomi Gentry,Turley;and three brothers,George Gaylor,Tahlequah;Jim Gaylor,Skiatook;and Levi Gaylor,Tulsa;and three sisters,Mary Brown,Pawhuska;Martha Berkley,Edinburg,TX. and Ina Gaylor,McAllen,TX;and 3 great grandchildren.
Interment was in Hillside Cemetery,under the direction of Peters Funeral Home Skiatook, now called Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home.
