David M. Bauman.

David M. Bauman was born January 23, 1851, and died at his home in this city, Saturday, June 24, 1911, after an illness of several months. He lived for many years in Ontario, Canada. Some twenty-five years ago he came to Finney county, Kansas, and about two years ago he moved to Fredonia, trading for the former Hammer Livery, barn.

On September 21, 1873, he was united by married to Miss Mary A. Martin and to this union were born thirteen children. With the exception of one, which died in infancy, all remain to mourn his loss. Six sons and six daughters will bring consolation to the wife in her sorrow.

The children are: Mrs. Susie Steele, Elcampo, Texas; Solomon Bauman, Bonners Ferry, Idaho; Mrs. Mary Mangan, Couch, Mo.; W.M. Bauman, Sykeston, N.D.; David Bauman, San Francisco, Calif.; Henry Bauman, Beloit, Wis.; Addison Bauman, Alberta, Canada; Laura, Della, Dollie and Hettie Bauman, of this city. They were all present at the funeral with the exception of the son who lives in Canada. Mrs. M.M. Brubecher of Gardner, Kansas, a sister of Mrs. Bauman's, was also here for the funeral.

When eighteen years of age Mr. Bauman united with the Mennonite church.

The funeral services were held at the home yesterday at two o'clock and interment was made in the Fredonia cemetery.
