MOCKSVILLE - Mr. Jeffrey Dean "JJ" Joyner, 51, a beloved father, papaw, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend suddenly departed this earth on January 24, 2011. Jeff was born May 15, 1959 to William H. and Peggy Adams Joyner. He was a graduate of Davie County High School. Jeff loved to drive his tractor and dump truck, work on his land, play music, build things, spend time with his family as well as his furry friend Freckles. He also enjoyed helping the people he loved. Jeff always loved the Lord and currently attended Hillsdale United Methodist Church. "Papaw Jeff" was a loving father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his oldest brother Billy Joyner and a special friend Carol Driscoll. Jeff is survived by his daughter Brandi Joyner Deese, granddaughter Emma Deese, parents Bill and Peggy Joyner, sisters Deborah Hendrix (Boyd), Brenda Legg, Martha McCraw, and brothers Mike Joyner (Lisa), and Bob Joyner (Merrilyn). He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, friends and "best buddies" Adam Barber, Gary Chaffin, Freddy Cothren, Jamie White and a "little buddy" Dillion Bentley. The service to celebrate Jeff's life will be on Friday, January 28, at 2:00 p.m. in the Davie Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Jerry Webb officiating. Burial will be in the Blaise Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 27, from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Davie Funeral Service. Flowers will be accepted and for those who prefer memorials may be made to A Storehouse for Jesus, 675 East Lexington Road, Mocksville, NC 27028 or to an educational trust fund for granddaughter Emma Katelyn Deese, c/o Bank of the Carolinas, 135 Boxwood Drive, Mocksville, NC 27028.
