BRANCH - Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 24, 2000, at 2 p.m. at Branch Methodist Church for Percy P. Jeffers, 89, who died Monday, February 21, 2000, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Hayes Jeffers of Branch; three sons, Boyd Jeffers of Baton Rouge, Lloyd Jeffers of Rayne and Frank Jeffers of Branch; three daughters, Hazel Courts of Vidor, Texas; Ouida Merritt of Many and Carlis Cummings of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one sister, Hattie Wyatt of Branch; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lillie Mae Brown Jeffers; five brothers, Curley, Willie, Robert, Leslie and Enos Jeffers; and one sister, Ina Fusilier.
Mr. Jeffers was a past principal of Branch Elementary School serving there for 35 years. He was also a member of the Retired Teachers Association, the Woodman of the World, and also a member of the Masonic Lodge #313.
Visitation will be observed on Wednesday from1:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Branch Methodist Cemetery.
Burial was held in Branch Methodist Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne.
