Nelson E. Herzog, 75, Lakemont, died Weds., Jan. 26, 2011 at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg. He was born in Sackets Harbor, NY to Albert T. & Lillian M. (Fields) Herzog. He married Nancy J. Mattingly on July 1, 1972, in Lakemont United Methodist Church. Survived by wife of 38 years; 4 daughters: Denise A. Horton & husband, William, in New Jersey; Diana A. Mills & husband, Steve, Bonnie L. Kuny & husband, Duane, and Sherri L. Shoenberger, all of Altoona; son, Doug A., in Texas, and his wife, Linda, currently serving with the U.S. Air Force in Afghanistan; 18 grandchildren and 13 gr. grandchildren. Predeceased by infant sister, Mary Lou. Nelson was a 1953 graduate of Altoona High School and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was employed for 34 years as a warehouse supervisor for Warnaco, then retired from Altoona Hospital's Material Management Department after 9 years. Member, Lakemont United Methodist Church. Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg. Interment, Blair Memorial Park.
