WAYNE F. BARTON
Norfolk- Funeral services for Wayne F. Barton, 57, of 1392 Highway 420 in Norfolk, will be held Saturday at 8 p.m. at Phillips Memorial Home in Massena, with the Rev. John Pendergast officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery in Massena in the Spring.
Calling hours will be held this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A wake service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Satruday at the funeral home.
Mr. Barton died unexpectedly Thursday morning (Jan 22, 1998) at the Massena Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Sylvia; two sons, Ludwig W. of Dallas, Texas and Craig R. Barton of Atlanta, Ga.; his parents, Rev. Floyd and Beulah (Besaw) Barton; two sisters, Mrs Francis (Sally) Derouchie of Brasher Falls, and Marie McCarthy of Piercefield; a sister-in-law, Ruth Barton of Parishville; three brothers, James and Nikola Barton of Brasher Falls, Arthur and Priscilla Barton of Norfolk, and Theodore and Toni Barton of Brasher Falls.
He was predeceased by one brother, Floyd Barton Jr. on June 7, 1992.
He was born Aug 4, 1940 in Massena, the son of Floyd and Beulah (Besaw) Barton. He was a graduate of St. Lawrence Central School anbd he had also served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Barton married Sylvia Huf on July 20, 1959 in Vienna, Austria. He was a long-time resident of the area. He was a pot tender at Reynolds Metals for 31 years.
He was a member of the AmVets Post 4 in Massena.
