William Morgan was in the First Regiment, Second Brigade, Fourth Division, Ohio Militia under Captain William McLaughlin's Company May 8, 1806. He bought 1/2 Section in Wayne Township, #13, Range 3, Sec. 10 in August of 1810 from Adam Poe (famous Indian Fighter at the mouth of Yellow Creek). He built a grist mill and cabin at the lower end of the farm. (This is where he his family lived.) He later built a cabin on the north side of the county road where the grove of trees are, and the road turns going to Lisbon. At his death he was well to do. He had a store loan out for several thousand dollars.
He is buried on the North West Corner of the farm, known as the Morgan Cemetery. His wife Mary is also buried in the family cemetery (Gavers). His 2nd wife, Nancy (Frank) Ewing Morgan, is buried at Mt. Lebanon Presbyterian Church Cemetery. West of the farm on State Road 518,Wayne Township.

Morgan Cemetery page from Vol 3 Columbiana Cemetery Records book 1978. his headstone was transcribed in 1976. Some friends recently went to the property and most of the stones are illegible and broken.
