OBITUARY.

Mrs. Sarah E. DePuy

Age: 73 years, 2 months, 11 days.

The Death of Mrs. Sarah Elma DePuy, widow of John K. DePuy, occurred at the home of her son Andrew Dewitt DePuy, 11 Abbott avenue about 12:30 o'clock this afternoon after an illness of nearly eighteen months' duration.
Mrs. DePuy, who was a native of Alligerville, Ulster county, New York, was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joachim J. Shurter of that place and a member of one of the old Hugenot families that originally settled in New Paltz, N.Y. The greater part of her life was spent in that section of New York state, her home after her marriage long being at Lake Mohonk, N.Y., where her husband was in charge of the famous grounds and gardens of the Lake Mohonk hotel. She was a lifelong member of the Dutch Reformed church of Alligerville.
Mrs. DePuy came to Danbury to reside about fourteen years ago and made many friends here by her kindliness and helpful sympathy. The death of her husband occurred two years ago.
Mrs. DePuy is survived by eight children. Mrs. Frank Coddington, of St. Josen, N.Y.; Mrs. Cyrus A. Wood of Boston; Mrs. Augustus H. Turner, of Ossining, N.Y.; Andrew D., Jacob R., and Harold J. DePuy, all of Danbury; Joachim S. DePuy of Accord, N.Y. and Demorest V. DePuy, of New York city. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Henry Sutherland, of High Falls, N.Y., and two brothers, Henry J. and Silas S. Shurter, of Ellenville. N.Y.
The funeral services will be held at 11 Abbott avenue Saturday afternoon at three o'clock. Interment will be in Kyserike cemetery, Kyserike, N.Y., Sunday.
