Patricia Jean "Pat" Mateer, 67, of Streator, died Saturday January 22, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Streator.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Pat Mateer will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael the Arch Angel Catholic Church in Streator. Father Ronald Dodd will officiate and also conduct graveside services at St's. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Leonore, IL. Serving as pallbearers will be Ken Mateer, Jim Sabino, Gary Sabino, Art Loebach, Chuck Loebach and Larry Loebach. A visitation will be Thursday from 9 - 11 a.m. at the Elias Funeral Home in Streator.
Born February 23, 1943 in Streator, IL, she was the daughter of Samuel L. and Leona (Loebach) Sabino. She married John Mateer on May 14, 1966, he survives.
Also surviving are sons Anthony Scott (Lori) Mateer Sr. of Streator, Thomas Allen (Amanda) Mateer of Bloomington, daughter Amy Marie (Robert) Thomas of Streator, grandchildren Ashley Mateer, Joseph Thomas, Anthony Mateer Jr., Kaitlin Thomas, Hayden Mateer, Cassidy Thomas and Mia Mateer, brothers Charles (Lois) Sabino of Nashville, TN, Samuel W. Sabino of Streator and 5 nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Melissa Jean Mateer in infancy.
Pat attended local grade schools, graduated from Streator Township High School in 1961 and graduated from Beauty School in Kankakee, IL. She was a former member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Streator and worked at St. Mary's Hospital for many years.
