Born somewhere between 1832-37, apparently in/near Brockville, ON. Married Elizabeth Ann Vandusen in Smiths Falls Jan 7, 1856, and resided in Montague Twp, Lanark, ON until 1869/70 when the family moved to Iowa. Stayed there for 10 years, then moved to Nebraska for another 10, and then on through Minnesota and Wisconsin. Left Wisconsin for Alberta in 1903, and homesteaded with his son Ashel in the Marwayne area. Died in 1914 in the hospital in Lloydminster, SK of pneumonia.
