Funeral services for James Alton "Pee Wee" Herrin, 84, of Zavalla will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Masonic Graveside services to follow in the Spiers Cemetery, Plum Ridge.

Mr. Herrin died at Lufkin Memorial Hospital, Lufkin, TX, June 16, 2002. A native of Newton and a former resident of Groves, he has lived in the Plum Ridge Community for the past 17 years. A 1926 graduate of Newton High School, he retired from Ameripol Synpol in Port Neches, TX after 30 years as an electrician. He held a lifetime certificate of membership in the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the DeWitt Clinton Masonic Lodge #29 AF & AM in Jasper at the time of his death. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, and being outdoors.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years Delma Adell Allen Herrin of Plum Ridge; two daughters, Sharon Herrin Alexander of Boston, MA., and Linda Herrin Swartz of Tucson, AZ; one brother, Carlton Herrin of Fawil, TX.; one sister, Louise Allen of Lufkin, TX.; a nd three grandchildren, Bailey Stauffer Swartz, Caitlin Herrin Swartz, and Alexander A. Swartz. He was predeceased by a son, Joe Neal Herrin. Services under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home.
