Character Actor. He was active in television and movies from 1958-1962. He appeared with Chuck Connors in The Rifleman. In 1962-1971 he joined the cast of the TV Western series The Virginian in the recurring role of Sheriff Brannon. His last role was in the 1979 Rockford Files episode, "A Different Drummer." He came to films in 1941 and remained until the mid-'60s. During WWII, Warde played many a young man in uniform. Afterwards, he showed up in supporting roles as detectives, doctors, and ministers.
