Dolly H. Ickes, 73, formerly of Altoona, died Mon., Jan. 24, 2011 at Homewood at Martinsburg. She was born in Altoona to George & Della (Reed) Coy and married Lewis R. Ickes, Sr., Oct. 11, 1954, in Winchester, VA. Survived by husband; daughter, Karen Dively & husband, Duane, of Claysburg; sons: Lewis R., Jr. & wife, Karen, of Newry and Rick, of Altoona; 4 grandchildren: Kristin Dively, Ashley Ickes, Luke Ickes and Matthew Ickes; 3 gr. grandchildren: Skylar, Remington and Kenly; sisters: Janie Baier and Ruthy Burket; brothers: Bob and Gary Coy; and many nieces & nephews. Dolly earned her high school diploma in 1976, graduating from Altoona Area High School with her son, Rick. She also attended Penn State Altoona. She retired from Warner Cable as a general manager, Feb. 1989 after 23 years of service. She was a member of Grace Bible Church. She was one of the first three women to be inducted into the Altoona Rotary Club on Nov. 11, 1987. She served on the board of directors of the Blair County Chamber of Commerce; and on the boards of the Easter Seal Society and Junior Achievement of Blair County. Member, United Way of Blair County Million Dollar Club in 1983; Altoona Quota Club in 1978; the Altoona Kiwanis Club and the American Cancer Society in 1987. President, Altoona Christian Women's Club, 1995. She served on the advisory board of Penn State Altoona in 1985. Good Funeral Home @ Alto-Reste Park Cemetery. Interment, Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
