William Bronkhorst, 62 , Route 2, Brandon, died Tuesday at St. Luke's Hospital, Milwaukee, following open heart surgery.
He was born March 29, 1910, in the Town of Alto, a son of John and Mary Tobak Bronkhorst.
He married Tracy Vander Laan in Chicago on Sept. 22, 1932.
After the marriage they returned to Brandon where Mr. Bronkhorst farmed all his married life.
He was a member of Alto Christian Reformed Church where he was an elder for many years, the men's society of the church and served on the board of directors of Christian Home for Aged at Waupun.
Survivors include his widow; a son, Allen of Randolph; three daughters, Mrs. Martin Huizenga of California, and Mrs. Orville Rens and Mrs. Wilbert Jansma both of Brandon; 14 grandchildren; his mother of Christian Home for Aged at Waupun; a brother, Ben of Brandon; and a sister, Mrs. Herman Medema of Brandon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Alto Christian Reformed Church with the Rev. John Groenewold of First Christian Reformed Church, Waupun, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Gerald DeVries of Alto Christian Reformed Church. Burial will be in Alto Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and at the church from noon Thursday until the time of services.
