The funeral of Miss Annie Showalter, who died early Monday morning at tho home of her brother, Jacob Showalter, a short distance southwest of Harrisonburg, was held at Weaver's church at noon Tuesday. The services wore conducted by Revs. Christian Good and Abram Brunk.

Miss Showalter's death was due to dropsy, which had practically rendered her an invalid for the last two years. Recently her condition had become very critical and the attending physicians found it impossible to afford her any relief. For several days prior to her demise the end was looked for at any time. She passed peacefully away at 4 o'clock Monday morning.

Miss Showalter was a daughter of the late Henry J. Showalter, who spent the latter days of his life near Daphna. She was born February,2, 1849, and had consequently almost completed her fifty-eighth year. With tho exception of a few years spent with relatives in the West, her entire life was passed in Rookingham county. For three years prior to her death she made her home" with her brother Jacob, in the Garber's church neighborhood. She had long been a member of the Mennonite church.

Surviving her are four brothers—Jacob, George, Anthony and Peter Showalter, all of this county; and two sisters—Mrs. Henry Blosser, also of the county: and Mrs. Nancy Brannaman, of Ohio.
