"Judy A. Kantrowitz, an educator at Denver Academy of Torah, passed away Jan. 17, 2011, in Denver. She was 60. Rabbi Bernard Gerson and Cantor Saul Rosenthal officiated at the Jan. 19 service held at Rodef Shalom. Interment followed at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements. "Judy's journey was one of extraordinary character, high values and a very visible passion for whom and what she loved," husband Allan Kantrowitz said at the service. Mrs. Kantrowitz was born April 21, 1950, in Springfield, Mass. She graduated Longmeadow High School, Boston University and American International College. Judy married Allan Kantrowitz on June 26, 1977. Prior to DAT, she taught for the Enfield Public School System in Massachusetts and the Heritage Academy Day School. Mrs. Kantrowitz is survived by her husband Allan Kantrowitz and daughter Jennie Kantrowitz of Englewood; mother Ruth (the late Milton) Auerbach of Longmeadow, Mass.; sister Su (Matt Kaplowitz) Auerbach of Amherst, Mass., and brother Harry (Karen) Auerbach of Longmeadow; and sister-in-law Ricki (Alex Cohen) Kantrowitz of Northampton, Mass. Contributions made be made to Rodef Shalom's General Fund, or the Judy Kantrowitz Literacy Fund at DAT."
