A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM, on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at St. John's Catholic Church in Blairstown with Father Keith L. Birch as Celebrant. The Visitation will also be held at the church from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday where a Vigil Service will begin at 5 PM. Interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Blairstown. Phillips Funeral Home in Blairstown is in charge of arrangements.
Mary was born January 12, 1916 at Victor to Henry and Leonie (Van Develde) Wauters.
On September 3, 1941 she married Wilbert "Bud" Meyer at Brooklyn, IA. Bud preceded her in death in 1999.
Mary was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the 20th Century Club in Blairstown. For several years she was employed by Benton Community Schools in Blairstown in the kitchen and as a custodian. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and quilting. Mary was a very loving mother and grandmother who cherished her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Theresa (Larry) Hagen of Blairstown; her sons, Daryl (Brenda) Meyer of Blairstown, and Darwin (Lori) Meyer of Van Horne; her grandchildren, Heidi (Larry) Driscoll, Jason (Nicole) Meyer, Kristie (Rick) Schmuecker, Amy (Garin) Woodward, Melissa (Jason) Sauser, Mandy (Pat) Freese, Jamie (fiancée, Lisa) Meyer, Beth (Brandon) Hartkemeyer, and Aaron (Kristin) Meyer; ten great-grandchildren with the eleventh due in November; and six step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by thirteen siblings.
A memorial fund has been established.
