Mrs. Leona Faye Spivey, 89, of Big Spring, formerly of Colorado City died Friday, January 23, 2004 in a Big Spring Care Center. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the 22nd. and Austin Street Church of Christ in Colorado City. Burial followed in the Colorado City Cemetery under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.

Mrs. Spivey was born to James Petty and Maudie Chastain Brown on April 11, 1914 in Paducah. She married W. A. Spivey in Big Spring in October 1943. She worked with the Mitchell County Hospital Pink Ladies Auxiliary for many years and was a member of the Business and Professional Womens organization. She loved ceramics and visiting with people.

She is survived by one daughter, Lanette and husband Robert Don Miller of Big Spring; three sons, Marvin and wife Gay Wilkerson of Glen Rock, Wyoming, Jim Ben Spivey of Delores, Colorado and Dwayne "Buck" Spivey of Sweetwater; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years W.A. Spivey , one daughter Peggy Yvonne Shrum in 1938, one sister and two brothers.
