BUXTON - Frederick Bernard Gaskins, 75, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, at a Nags Head nursing facility.

Mr. Gaskins was born in Buxton and was a heavy equipment operator for the N.C. Dept. of Transportation for 27 years. He served with the Corps of Engineers during WWII.

He was the son of the late George and Mary Etta Whidbee Gaskins and the husband of the late Geraldine Rose Jennette Gaskins, and Annie Laura Harris Gaskins of the home.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters: Wanda Petietti of Arlington, VA, Ruby Petietti of Alexandra, VA, Frieda Gould and Sheila Gaskill, both of Buxton; a son, Jimmy Peteitti of Buxton; two brothers: Robert Gaskins of Buxton and David Gaskins of Nags Head; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, Feb. 13 at the Lighthouse Assembly of God with the Revs. Carroll Daniels, Shawn Mizelle and John Cullop officiating. Burial will take place in the Quidley Family Cemetery.
