SAVANNAH - Marion F. Maner, 82, died October 6, 2010 in Savannah.

Mr. Maner was born in Savannah, GA on July 19, 1928, the son of the late Benjamin and Lillian Shuman Maner.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving on board the U.S.S. Mississippi and was honorably discharged as a Seaman in 1949.

He was retired from what is now International Steel where he worked as a welder for many years. Marion was a member of International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Local 26.

Mr. Maner was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Lillian C. Maner and grandson, Scott Ussery.

He is survived by his daughters, Debra Guerrero and Betty Ginn; grandchildren, William Ussery, Jr., Marci King Wilson and Brian L. Ginn; four great-grandchildren and two brothers.

The family will be receiving friends at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 8, 2010 followed by a graveside funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
