PEORIA - Mrs. Mildred M. Hamman, 97, a resident of the ManorCare Health Services of Peoria, Ill., formerly of Bloomington, Ill., died at 9:25 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at the ManorCare Health Services of Peoria, Ill.

Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at the Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington, Ill. The Rev. Roane Deckert will be officiating. Entombment will be in Park Hill Mausoleum in Bloomington, Ill. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at the memorial home.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's research or to a charity of the donor's choice.

She was born June 7, 1908, in Wapella, Ill., the daughter of Menno and Lucinda Ives Mastin. She married Roy C. Hamman on Jan. 1, 1941, in Fairbury, Ill. He died Feb. 10, 1994.

She is survived by one son, John (Dawn) Hamman of Peoria, Ill.; two grandchildren, Robin (Agnieszka) Hamman and Lindsay Hamman.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Mildred had attended Second Presbyterian Church in Bloomington, Ill.
She was a graduate of Illinois State University in Normal. She was an elementary school teacher. She taught at Wapella, Chenoa and Pontiac schools, and later taught kindergarten at Oakland School in Bloomington, Ill., from 1958 to 1974.
