Came to USA in 1860, resided with Uncle Thomas Martin in New Orleans Served in Civil War, took discharge in Upper Sandusky. Built an Opera House in Upper Sandusky, served in county politics, and worked as a brewery accountant. Documentation of the Badische Revolution in Baden claims that Anselm fled Germany in 1865 to escape reprisals and seek freedom. buried in lot 15 grave 3 in 1870 census living with Ulrich Orsinger
