Resident of Florida Had Returned Here 3 Months Ago.
Joseph Arnold, 64, of 568 Sugar street, died suddenly at 5:30 p. m. Saturday in the office of Dr. S. W. Mattox of 353 North Main street, to whom he had gone for treatment.
Coroner J. M. Ruckman was called and after an investigation said dead was due to a heart attack.
Dr. Mattox was not in his office at the time. Earlier in the day Mr. Arnold had complained of pains in his chest and when the pains continued his family prevailed on him to consult a physician. A member of the family accompanied him to the physician's office and was with him when the fatal attack occurred. Dr. Mattox arrived in his office shortly after Mr. Arnold died, and called the coroner.
Mr. Arnold came to Marion three months ago from New Smyrna, Fla.
He was born in Wyandot county on Nov. 24, 1876, to William and Eliza Barick Arnold. His father was a native of Knox county. He was married in Marion on Dec. 5, 1934, to Mrs. Bertha O. Miller.
Surviving are the widow are five stepchildren, Troy Miller, Mrs. Jeanetta Ulery of 568 Sugar street, Mrs. Georgia Parish of 311 Nye street, Mrs. Thelma Wilson of Broadway and Gerald Miller in Pennsylvania.
Friends may call at the Merle H. Hughes funeral home on Mt. Vernon avenue, where the funeral will be conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p. m. Burial will be made in St. Peter's Catholic cemetery in Upper Sandusky.
