In 1900 he and his parents and seven siblings--all but Margaret--lived on a farm they were renting in Mifflin Township, Allegheny County, PA.

In 1910 he and his parents and six siblings--all but Margaret and Henry--lived on a farm they were renting in Ward 2 in Monongahela, PA. Clarence worked as a teamster in an axle works, he as a blacksmith in a blacksmith shop, Harry as a teamster in a planing mill, and Wilson as a laborer in a machine shop.

In 1920 he and his wife and their son lived on a farm they owned, mortgage free, in Carroll Township, Washington County, PA.

In 1930 the three of them lived on presumably the same farm on the Washington Pike (now Highway 136). Their home was valued at $10,000 and they did have a radio.

In 1940 he lived with his son and his wife and their three children in a place they were renting for $10 a month in the same township. Kenneth worked as a tractor operator in a steel mill, with an income in 1939 of $1200 for 50 weeks of work.
